I’m originally from Texas, which is where Juneteenth originated.

Most of you may not know this, but I’m originally from Texas, which is where Juneteenth originated. This is why #Juneteenth is such an important day for me. Every morning I wake up in this old historic house with special gratitude and humbleness knowing that the original owner was a good decent person, who cared about all humanity and was against the total concept of slavery. He was among those who vehemently opposed slavery and was against the National Administration for the Expansion of Slavery during the 1800s. This is a picture of the New York Inquirer news paper in 1856 with a list of New York citizens who denounced the expansion of slavery, of which his name is on the list. I know I’ve posted these several times before but in honor of Juneteenth I would like to post it again. This means so much to me because I have roots in Texas, and therefore take great pride in knowing that I live in a house that was on the right side of history
